Ucluelet is a drive in destination on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Experience the thrill of landing a tyee class king salmon (Chinook above 30 lbs), a tail walking Coho (Silvers) or a heart pounding Pacific Halibut which could go over 100lbs. The average weight of a sport-caught halibut is about 25-40 pounds. With our many offshore/inshore reefs, we have fabulous cod fishery, ling cod being one of my favorite.
Even if you are not a fisherman, we have something for everyone. Wild Pacific Charters can take you on cruise around Barkley Sound looking for Grey whales, humpback whales and of course the occasional (Orca) Killer Whale. Chatham Sound has many fjords and rivers that run into Rupert waters. The Skeena and the Nass are two of the largest and most productive salmon waters in North America and both of these run into Chatham Sound. Besides these two,there are many smaller rivers and creeks that support the salmon production. Years ago, there were over 100 canneries in the area and some of the largest salmon were caught in these waters.
Prince Rupert, BC is surrounded by a ring of islands from the south and west. They offer good protection from the ocean. It is around these islands that we fish and in them that we find secure anchorage for our overnight stays.

August and September are the best months for trophy Salmon as the spawning fish are feeding aggressively while preparing to head for their home rivers. Living and fishing for many years in this area we have great knowledge of the waters in and around the islands and would be pleased to arrange a fishing trip or eco-tour for you. We are situated south-east of Telegraph Cove on West Cracroft Island in a sheltered cove called Pott's Lagoon. Be sure to have binoculars and camera handy, the adventure begins on the way down Johnstone Straits past Hanson Island to the tip of West Cracroft Island. Proceed down the Baronet Passage to Klaoltsis Island and on to Pott's Lagoon. We are on the regular scheduled service of Vancouver Island Air and know the flight from and to the lodge in a floatplane is spectacular
