For 23 of these years, it operated as a registered Hereford cattle ranch. Around 1973, the Solana was converted to a registered Simmental Cattle Ranch and it was in this year that an exotic game operation was introduced. We are at the very edge of the Edwards Plateau, which puts us 200 feet above the Village of Salado, Inc, our nearest community.
This one-of-a-kind 9,000 acre cattle and wildlife SOLANA RANCH stretches over 13 miles over the Central Texas Hill Country. Our guests may expect to see wild turkey, deer, and cattle, as well as, other wildlife during their stay with us. The eastern part of the ranch is more open pastureland with some areas in cultivation - ideal for dove hunting. The western part of the ranch changes to rolling terrain and rough canyons with a variety of trees, brush, grasses and forage - perfect for deer, turkey, exotics and hog hunting.
Accommodations are at two refurbished ranch houses. Bedding, linen and showers are included in the cozy cabins, which, by the way, have air and heat for your comfort and relaxation. |

North Morgan Creek Ranch is located on private property in Oplin, Texas about a 30 minute drive from Abilene. Our family has been in the commercial hunting buisness for over 40 years. We have high standards when it comes to harvesting trophy animals at an affordable price. We are now hunting aoudad, axis, blackbuck antelope, bison, elk, fallow deer, sika deer, red deer, sheep, scimitar horned oryx, water buffalo, emu, rhea, and turkey.

In addition to the excellent hunt, all guests are housed in our 2,000 sq. ft. bunkhouse. All meals are served family style. Tap beer is available at no extra charge to enjoy after the hunt. All food is provided. Cold storage of all game is available until arrangements are made at a local storage/processing plant.
We encourage all hunters to come to our ranch. We have 2 apartment style rooms connected to our bunkhouse each with their own bathroom, it is the perfect place for couples or families to come and spend their hunt together. |

The ranch is made up of diverse vegetation including oaks and mesquite which offer a natural forrage high in protein, which promotes antler and horn growth. There are also several ponds on the ranch which are used by the game throughout the year for watering. |
